If there was a "target audience" for the book, it would be "NPR Americans", that is those Americans who listen to National Public Radio, and are searching for a way to end endless war. The larger audience is all the citizens of the world desiring a better understanding of the very heartland of Oil and Islam, Saudi Arabia. It is indeed heartening that Al Hayat, as well as various other Saudi nationals, consider the book a fair portrait of their country, and a reasonable examination of how Western perceptions of their country are formed.
